LETTER 3

Dear [State Representative],

I am writing to express my strong support for the proposed state bond to fund the relocation and expansion of Ireland's Great Hunger Museum in Fairfield. The museum will be moving to a new location adjacent to the Gaelic-American Club in the heart of Fairfield's historic district. This is an important opportunity to preserve and showcase the history and culture of the Irish-American community in Connecticut.

The proposed location is ideal for several reasons, including its proximity to the Fairfield Metro North Train Station and the Downtown Fairfield Shopping District. Additionally, the Fairfield Museum & History Center is located across the street, which provides opportunities for event partnerships and collaborations between the two museums.

The mission of the museum is to educate all audiences about the underlying political, social, economic, and historical causes of The Great Hunger. By relocating to the Fairfield Historic District and re-opening Ireland’s Great Hunger Museum under the auspices of The Gaelic American Club, we are widening the reach of the collection and providing greater public access. This will enable us to tell our story and preserve our heritage, which is critical for future generations to understand and appreciate.

Therefore, I urge you to support the proposed state bond to fund the relocation and expansion of Ireland's Great Hunger Museum in Fairfield. This investment will not only benefit our community but will also provide an important resource for visitors and scholars to learn about the history and culture of the Irish-American community in Connecticut.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

LETTER 1

Dear [State Representative],

I am writing to express my support for the proposed state bond to fund the relocation and expansion of Ireland’s Great Hunger Museum in Fairfield. As you may already know, the museum will be moving to a new location adjacent to the Gaelic-American Club in the heart of Fairfield's historic district. This new location will provide greater public access to the collection, making it an important cultural and educational resource for the community.

The proposed location is ideal for several reasons. Firstly, the museum will be situated in the heart of Fairfield's historic district, which is within walking distance of the Fairfield Metro North Train Station and the Downtown Fairfield Shopping District. Secondly, Fairfield County has the largest population rise in Connecticut, and its median income level and gross wealth are far higher than in New Haven County. Lastly, the Fairfield Museum & History Center is located across the street, and event partnerships between the two museums will benefit both organizations.

The mission of the museum is to educate all audiences about the underlying political, social, economic, and historical causes of The Great Hunger. By relocating to the Fairfield Historic District and re-opening Ireland’s Great Hunger Museum under the auspices of The Gaelic American Club, we are widening the reach of the collection. This will enable us to tell our story, so that others can understand how oppressive regimes can try to eradicate language, culture, music, and faith, but also, how the oppressed can rise above and build something new and unique.

Therefore, I urge you to support the proposed state bond to fund the relocation and expansion of Ireland's Great Hunger Museum in Fairfield. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

Sincerely,
